Galex is the sole UK importer and distributor for the Portuguese manufacturer Coelho da Silva SA (CS). CS was established in 1927 and has continued to be a family-owned business with a strategy firmly focused on quality, innovation, and development.
CS's drive and commitment has made it one of the world’s leading clay roof tile manufacturers, boasting a production capacity of 57 million units per annum, making it Portugal’s largest clay tile manufacturer. Throughout its entire history, CS has remained independent, continuously producing tiles since its inauguration.
Product Range
CS’s range includes roof tiles designed for low pitches such as the Plasma interlocking flat tile, the Primus square profiled tile, and the Sirius bold roll tile (all of which are suitable for roofs with pitches as low as 10 degrees). As well as these, CS also manufactures other profiles such as barrel tiles, Portuguese S tiles, and, of course, Marseille profiled tiles.
At the Cutting Edge of Clay Production
CS has state-of-the art production methods, including the use of plaster cast moulds. This method produces the most consistent tiles and accessories in the industry with very little distortion and produces a consistent density of the product.
